A Must Have For All Doctor Who Fans!

Just released this week. Doctor Who The Complete Season Two DVD is a must have for any fan. David Tennant is just the best doctor. I found this season to be much much better than season 1. Though sad to see this would be the last to see Billie Piper who played Rose Tyler gone after the season finale. Its not fair but sometimes change is for the best. Only great things will come. And I know Season Three will be ever better and more exciting.

Okay so I was alittle upset that they added a new doctor. I guess I was one of the few that liked Christopher Eccleston as the 9th doctor on the acclaim BBC series Doctor Who. But after seeing David Tennant as the 10th doctor in the second season. I'am totally hooked! He adds so much character and personally to the show. I really don't know why they didnt get him to begin with. The stories seem much better and so far(only 4 episodes have been shown on Sci-fi) there seems to be more action taking place.
Now I've got to remember that second season is set for DVD release in Jan. 2007. Woo-hoo a must have for sure.

Geez! Talk about being in a heatwave! Oklahoma has had 33 days of over 100 degree temperatures. Now given the record is 50 which was set in 1980. But enough is enough. This heat is so bad already 26 people have died. I know some people just love the heat. But not me! No sir! Iam such a wimp when it comes to hot weather. And this heat is no exception. Its so bad that not a day goes by that I dont wake up feeling sick to my stomach or having some sort of bad headache. And when it gets this hot there's nothing I can do but stay indoors and stay close to the ac. There's no way anyone can function in 106 degree weather. If they say they are they are lying.
Also This week alot of high schools started back. My heart goes out to those young kids. Nothing worse then going back to school in this heat and the air conditoners don't work. Or only put out little to no air. Don't you think somebody could've checked them out say a week before the kids arrived for the first day of school.
Anyway i pray that this heatwave will be over soon. And the relief will come. It better cause Alaska is looking pretty darn good to me right about now.

Kudos to the Sci-fi channel! They are actually going to show the Doctor Who 2005 series tonite! I remember last year, I was ranting about how it would be nice for us die-hard fans in the states be able to watch this. How it wasn't fair that the mighty brits got to have all the fun. Well no more. According to the scifi website. Sci-fi will show all 12 episodes. Though there wasn't any mention about the christmas episode. Oh well, still it should be a great nite for watching the telly. Now let's hope all goes well and next they will show the Doctor Who 2006 with the 10th new doctor David Tennant. Yeah!

Oklahoma became the 41st state yesterday to have a state lottery. And boy howdy did people turn out to buy those tickets. Over $2 million were sold in just one day. And get this every ticket sold goes toward funding for our kids schools education. What a concept! I even found myself standing in line yesterday to try my luck. I thought $2 for a ticket was pretty reasonable. But I couldn't believe this lady in front of me was buying $200 dollars worth of tickets. Lottery fever!!! I can't wait to see what the powerball lottery next year will be like. If people are going this crazy now. I hate to think what it will be like then. Oh boy!

Oh geez how many Bass Pro Shop customers and not to mention tax payers are gonna be pissed about this store opening this week Sept. 29 here in OKC! Sportsman's Warehouse is American's Premier Outfitter for Hunting, Fishing, Camping, Outerwear and Footware store. It has bascially everything that the Big Bass Pro has. Do we really need this store. Of course not. The tax payers already shelled out bunches to have the Bass Pro Shop to help boost our tourism and beautify Bricktown. It's such a slap in the face. Talk about being screwed AGAIN! SIgh!!!!!! I bet two to one that this new store will attract more people because it is in such a better and easier location to drive too. Northside OKC is such a hoping place these days. Everything I ever need to do my shopping is there. Poor side side. What did we ever do to deserve this. Wait that's where I live! Nevermind I'll save that for another day of ranting.

I was so thrilled when I found this groucho marx book this week at Sams. A must have for any fan. Titled Groucho: A Photographic Journey by Arthur Marx. Has alot of never before seen pictures of the late great comic genius taken by his son Arthur Marx. From family photos to the Hollywood scene to the Marx Brothers. This is such a must have indeed. Only wish it had more tell all of this private comic genius. But oh well.....Im happy for now.

Yuck! Can it be any hotter? This heat wave we've been having is just unbearable! I've never been able to handle extreme heat. My perfect weather is when it's in the 70's...Smiles....With a slight overcast. Ahhh wishful thinking. I know. So How does one beat the heat? Make it through these Dog Days of Summer? I know I could stay close by the pool. But you couldn't pay me enough to goto a local swimming pool filled with bratty, rude, and noisy children. Whose parents aren't watching them. And doesn't seem to care either. Bad enough I have to put up with them at the malls. Gee can't ya tell I don't have kids....Ha Ha ha!

Said goodbye to my 98 year old grandmother today. Never easy to say goodbye to someone you love. But you do the best you can. Which I did. Im just thankful that she didn't suffer. Nor was in pain. Still sharp as a tack and was able to tell me that she loved me before the end. She was such an inspiration. She lived to see all her 5 sons get old, and see her 14 grandkids, 9 great grandkids and 1 great great grandkid too. She will never be forgotten.

Feels good to be back. After several bumps in the road and I do mean several! Like being very sick for 5 weeks with the flu and strep throat. Okay first off why in the world do we not carry these? And second why do they taste so darn delicious? What am I talking about? Why the Pink Lady Apples of course.
This unquie brand of apples is something I came across over the weekend in alittle getaway to Dallas, Texas. I simply love the champagne & sweetness flavor of this apple delight! I bet they would be even better baked. Well something else to add to the list of why I dislike Oklahoma. I simply cannot understand why they (the whole dallas/ft worth metroplex) always gets the great stores and malls. Given some of these places the prices are way too much unless you're the "Donald". Trump I mean. Could anyone really afford some of the items I was glacing at. Still seems like every year when I travel that way. I always see something new built and must check it out. Then again what's that saying. Everything is bigger and better in Texas. You're Darn Right.
If they add Pink Lady Apples who knows perhaps they could also add Grapples.

SpamAlot the musical is coming to Broadway! Billed as "officially ripped-off" from the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, features a book by one of the Python's creators, Eric Idle with music and lyrics by Idle and John Du Perez. Mike Nichols directs the show, which will feature Hank Azaria, David Hyde Pierce, and Tim Curry as King Arthur. Opens March 10, 2005. Oh how I would love to see this. Being a huge Python fan. But since I don't live anywhere near New York City. I can only hope that maybe a touring production will take place and perhaps make it my way.

Yes! I've been seriously neglecting my journal. And for that I must apologize. Im leading a quiet life, sinless life these past few weeks. Im doing nothing but work, eating, sleeping, and any other innocent pursuits that presents itself. My social life is negligible but Im hoping that will change soon. Actually, things will be much better once Valentine's Day has passed. Frankly, Im not looking forward to that day. I could go into the reasons why. But I think that would be too selfish of me. We all know someone whose a pack rat. Why we might even be one ourself. And I'am no exception. I'am a Pack Rat! I don't know why i keep some of the stuff I have. Most of it is items from high school and college days. Like essay papers that I was so proud of, awards, medals, to all those tapes, and records that serve no purpose when so much has been already replaced by buying the cd's. And why am I keeping the lava lamps from college? Maybe it's just me but buying something practical seems much more reasonable than being foolish. How age can change a person's mind. Okay I'm off to go do some more serious cleaning. Take care my Dahlings and have a Wonderful weekend.

To Clara Bow "It", and "The Plastic Age". Wow wee wow wow! What a way to start off the new year.

Well soon it will be all over....Say goodbye to 2004 and hello to '05! I'am so ready for this year to be over with. It was a year of tremendous celebrated highs and implausible lows for me and my family. To almost lose a parent was not easy to deal with. We all suffered alot in the end. Luckily, things are trying to get back to normal. And hopefully they will be in the new year. As for my plans this evening. For the first time in 7 years I will be spending it alone with family. Which isn't a bad thing. I'm actually loooking forward to it. I don't need to be out and about putting up with drunk, rude, people, looking to pick fights. No-no-no....I don't need that. I think I'll be just fine having a nice dinner and watching some television.

What a week it's going to be. With Thanksgiving just days away. The craziness is about to begin. I still keep asking myself where did it all go. Seems like everything is going by so fast. The year is almost over. Where did it all go?Okay, so I've never been the type who is truly ready for the holidays. I see my neighbors are already putting up their christmas lights and trees. Ughh!!! You people make me sick. Can't you wait till Thanksgiving is over? Sheesh! In fact, I'am such a procrastinor. I will wait till the last minute on doing anything. I know I should be making plans and whatnot for Thanskgiving and especially getting myself in the mood for the holidays. Nah I just can't do it. It's just such a fuss. A hassel that makes take out food on Thanksgiving. Look better and better to me. Anyway, my point is. Today I'am taking A Moment of Zen today. November Rain...It's a Good thing

Woke up to the sound of rain this morning. A cold, wet, rain, thunder that I just love. These are the days that I just adore! To sit by the fire with a cuppa joe( or a tazo tea) in my hand and curl up with a good book and perhaps some great jazz to listen too. Then again since I'm stuck at home today. Maybe some great silent movies are in store. One never knows where the day will take you. Days like these are such a rarity. Living in the south truly has it's disadvantages. Because we never have seasons like other states. We have such sudden changes that one can never enjoy it. Another good thing about fall. Is seeing guys wearing sweaters and jeans and lambswool jackets or peacoats. There's something about a guy who wears the JCrew look. Such a turn on. Smart, Intelligent, and Confident.....It's a good thing. Now where is he hiding? On another note. My favorite new place to shop is Aldi they have the coolest things. Have you checked it out? After recently renting this movie..."Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". I sure had some thoughts. Really how cool would it be to actually erase someone from your mind. Never to have to think about a person, place, event, or thing that was so horrible even so painful ever again? Talk about freeing your mind. Setting it all free and never having anymore worries or a care in the world. I know there have been many events in 2004 that I would like to erase.

MelodicRock: Yay!!! Looks like some of my favorite bands are releasing some way cool albums, dvd's, and even finally getting a star of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. That they so rightfully deserve!

1. On November 23, 2004, Wind-up Records will release Evanescence's Anywhere But Home, capturing one night of the magic as cameras entered The Zenith in Paris to capture the phenomenon.

2. Journey's Live In Houston 1981 will be released November 16. FYI it's been pushed back to sometime in 2005. Oh well still a must have! Journey will receive their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on January 21, 2005. The ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. The exact location will be announced at a later date.

3. Bon Jovi will release the long awaited box set: 100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can’t Be Wrong... - UNIQUE FOUR-CD/ONE-DVD BOX SET FEATURES 38 NEVER BEFORE RELEASED RECORDINGS PLUS 12 RARITIES. Set to be out (Nov 16).

Looks like comedian George Carlin has done it again. His latest book; "When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops?" was released Oct. 12, 2004. An interesting observation on religion as well as contemporary social and political issues. Though I don't always agree with his takes on such issues. It's always interesting and never dull to say the least. It does make one think. So After reading the "Da Vinci Code" book. I'll probably check this book out just for curiosity sake and what his views on religion. And now the big grocery store chain "Walmart" says it won't sell this book. Too bad. Really a shame.

For those who don't know me. Wait, that's an absurd question. How could you possibly know me? I'am a huge Charlie Chaplin admirer. I have an ever growing DVD collection as well as a book collection. Really, it all started in 1992 when I saw the film;"Chaplin",starring actor Robert Downey Jr. and directed by the great Richard Attenborough. Which, I thought was just brilliant! And I've been hooked ever since. Today I can say that I have one more great item to add to my collection. It's a book called: "Charlie Chaplin: A Photo Diary", by Michel Comte. A must have for any Chaplin fan. It has some never before seen photos taken from the Chaplin Archives. Oh! Yeah! I'am the happiest girl in the world. Next on my list (which includes among other things) the book "Genius of the Cinema" by Jeffrey Vance.
